About Clarity Social
Social media, the way it used to be.
Real people. Real moments. No AI-generated content.
Somewhere along the way, social media stopped being about people. The feed got sorted by a machine, filled up with strangers, cut through with ads — and now a good share of the photos in it were never taken by anyone at all.
Clarity Social is the other thing. Every photo and video is reviewed by a person before it reaches the feed and carries a visible badge. Your feed is the people you chose, in the order they posted. No measure of your attention decides what you see next, and nothing is in your feed because someone paid to put it there.
What everyone is tired of
The problem
You cannot tell what is real any more.
Deepfakes. Invented events. Influencers who were never born. Faces and bodies that were never in a room. It is exhausting to look at a photo now and have to ask whether anyone was actually there.
On Clarity
AI-generated photos and video are not allowed on Clarity, ever. Every photo and video is reviewed by a person before anyone else sees it, and carries a visible badge once it is. No detection tool is perfect — which is exactly why a human makes the call instead of software guessing.
The problem
Everything you do is being measured.
How long you looked. What you paused on. Where you were standing. Which app you opened next. Collected, stitched together, and turned into a version of you that can be sold to whoever is buying.
On Clarity
Clarity does not track you across other apps and websites, and your personal data is not for sale. Nothing you do here is built into an advertising profile — there is no ad system to build one for.
The problem
The ads never stop.
You mention something out loud once and it follows you for a week. Sponsored posts, promoted accounts, whole stretches of feed you did not ask for — priced by how well they hold you there.
On Clarity
There are no ads on Clarity. No sponsored posts, no promoted accounts, no paid placement of any kind. Nothing is in your feed because someone paid to put it there.
The problem
Pause for three seconds and that is your whole feed now.
You stop on one video and the machine decides that is who you are. An hour later you are still scrolling something you never chose, feeling worse, wondering where the evening went.
On Clarity
There is no engagement algorithm. Nothing ranks, boosts, or recommends based on what holds your attention, so stopping on a post does not change what you are shown next. Your feed is the people you follow and the pages you chose, newest first — and when you reach the end of it, you are done.
The problem
Your friends are in there somewhere.
Social media used to be for seeing what the people you know were up to. Now it is a television channel that your friends occasionally appear on, three screens below the strangers.
On Clarity
Clarity is the old shape. Real people, real photos, in the order they were posted, and a feed that ends. You post because something happened — not to feed a machine.

Frequently asked questions
What is Clarity Social?
Clarity Social is a social network for real, human-made content. Share photos, videos, and updates with the people you actually know — with a hard rule that AI-generated content is not allowed, a feed in plain chronological order, and no ads.
How does Clarity Social keep AI-generated content out?
Every photo and video post is reviewed by a person before it appears to other users, and reviewed posts carry a visible badge. Posters also certify their media is not AI-generated, and misrepresenting content can lead to suspension. No detection method is perfect, which is why a human makes the call rather than software rejecting posts automatically.
What counts as AI-generated?
Photos and video created or materially altered by generative AI — synthetic images, AI video, invented scenes, faces or bodies that were never photographed. Ordinary editing is fine: cropping, colour, filters, the things phone cameras have done for years. Clarity is not against AI as a technology. The rule is about presenting generated media as something that happened.
How does the feed decide what I see?
It does not decide. Your feed is the people you follow and the pages you chose, in the order they posted — newest first. There is no ranking, no recommendation engine, and no measurement of what holds your attention. Discover is a separate tab for finding people to follow, and it is chronological too.
Why is my feed quieter than other apps?
Because nothing is being inserted into it. Other apps fill the gaps between your friends with recommended content, so the feed never runs out. Clarity does not — if the people you follow have not posted, there is nothing new to see. That is the trade, and it is deliberate.
Are there ads?
No. There is no advertising, no sponsored posts, and no promoted accounts. Nothing appears in your feed because someone paid to put it there.
Does Clarity Social track me or sell my data?
Clarity Social does not track you across other apps and websites, and does not sell personal data. Nothing you do here feeds an advertising profile, and nothing you do here changes what your feed shows you. Like most apps, Clarity does collect product analytics and error reports — including session replay of navigation and clicks, with anything you type masked — so we can see how the app is performing and fix what breaks. The privacy policy sets out exactly what that covers.
Is Clarity Social free?
Yes. Creating an account, posting, messaging, following pages, and playing the built-in games are all free.
Will it stay this way?
That is how Clarity Social works today, and it is why the app exists. We are not going to pretend to know what a social network looks like years from now, so we would rather describe honestly how it works right now than make promises about forever. If something changes, we will say so plainly.
If you miss the version of this that was just your people, posting real things, come build it with us.
